This blanketflower, growing wild near a pond, seems an improbable blossom for Nov 13. And yet, here it is, the only remaining color among the seed heads.

Phenology is the study of natural occurrences through the seasons. It is, perhaps, the oldest science; and yet, with climate change all over the news, it is still very important today.
