Phenology is the study of natural occurrences through the seasons. It is, perhaps, the oldest science; and yet, with climate change all over the news, it is still very important today. This page is my way to share some of my phenological observations through the year, and let others share their observations with me!
Great photo!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold down here too (Georgia) - not near as cold as you're experiencing. But I've started to walk around with my camera tucked inside my coat to keep it warm.
Whew, stay warm! I'm sorry you weren't able to get photos from the indoor exhibits. That would have made all of us feel a tad bit warmer.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog through Blue Jay Barrens and I love phenology, so I'll be back.
That photo is hilarious. You two are a lot braver than I am, I want to take some winter pictures but don't want to brave the cold.
ReplyDeleteBTW, are you participating in One Seed Chicago this year? If you haven't heard about it check out my blog, I have a post on it on my homepage at the moment.
Hope you can participate.
Thank you for writing "Nature Nerd!" As a fellow resident of Lake County, I sincerely enjoy reading your phenological observations.
ReplyDeleteHappy trails...and stay warm!

I voted for my plant/seed!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad our bundled-up-ness can bring joy to others. It got some mocking from our companions at the time...
I'm just glad you didn't stick fast to the bench :-)
