Phenology is the study of natural occurrences through the seasons. It is, perhaps, the oldest science; and yet, with climate change all over the news, it is still very important today. This page is my way to share some of my phenological observations through the year, and let others share their observations with me!
Interesting. It looks like an inflorescence that's lost its flowers, but not made seeds. What does the rest of the plant look like?
ReplyDeleteI actually took a picture of the rest of the plant... but I deleted it because it was a bad photo -- which I later regretted because it still could have been informational. And I took it at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, so the plant probably had a label if I'd looked, but that also means it could be from any part of the world, cultivated there by their world class horticulturists...
